Steve

Electrician for Life !

I’ve been doing Electrical work for 30 years. I started as a young boy, with a fascination for electricity, inherited from my grandfather. Grandpa Lon worked at Chrysler, lived in Saint Clair Shores, and loved Popular Science and Popular Mechanics magazines.

I worked for General Motors Corporation, Hydramatic Division for 9 years. There, I learned the Electrical Trade from some of the best Jouneymen & Masters in the business. These guys put me through the wringer, challenging me to be safe, and stretching my brain to previously unknown limits. Most of them were Vietnam Vets, and I learned to respect them, not only for their Electrical knowledge, but for their love and service to the United States.

Electrical Technician

Working for another GREAT Master Electrician, Tom Erickson, in Grand haven, MI, I continued to gain knowledge and experience. He challenged me daily to take care of my customers and do what was right for them. He is still a man of great integrity and he expects no less from his crew.

Electrical Manager/Supervisor

About 18 years ago, after a nasty divorce, I met the love of my life, Deb. She has challenged me at every turn, and has never stopped supporting and loving me in my work. A short time later, I was offered a great job as a Controls Engineer at Micron electronics in Idaho. I left Michigan, friends and extended family and with Deb and our 6 kids, began a career in management. I was promoted to Maintenance Manager soon after and have held several positions since that time, including E&I Manager and Engineering Manager.

Electrical Trainer & Instructor

I am PASSIONATE about teaching!
Throughout the few years of my life, I have always loved to learn. I just cannot understand why anyone would feel otherwise. I learned, at a young age, a few things that have served me well:
1 – Listen. No one ever learns by talking.
2 – I can learn something from anyone.
3 – Never stop learning. I’m dead if I do stop.
4 – I love what I do, because I have to; I choose to.
5 – I reinforce my own learning by teaching others.

I’ve been teaching folks for many years…friends, acquaintances, strangers…anyone who asks, and some that don’t! I’ve been blessed with great teachers, young and old. I read a lot and ‘play’ on the computer. And, I continue to tell anyone who will listen about what I have learned.

I figure that working men and women are the ones that make business and life-in-general work, so why not do my best to help them? And, do it at a price that is reasonable!

Some things I have taught: Safety, Electrical Theory, Electrical Controls, How to Get Along with Others, Good Workmanship, NEC, Computer Basics, MS Office.
